Happy Thursday friends! I have a question for you all today about your path.
I realize we all follow different paths, I’ve been a witch for quite some time. It wasn’t until 10 years ago I really looked into the spiritual side of it. I started reading up on Wicca and the different paths, still never found one that suited me. I consider myself an eclectic witch, and tend to do things my way.
When I was growing up there was no internet, you couldn’t easily access information on witchcraft, Wicca, Paganism, etc. Of course you could buy books, but I was a crazy teenager and never really cared about anything other than hanging out with friends and partying. Here I am 10 years later searching for more, for something new. That’s not to say I want to be anything other than a witch, I guess I’m on a new journey in my path. It could also have a lot to do with the disability that hit me a couple years ago. My life has changed drastically, I’m not able to get around as much, so I find myself reading a lot. The more I read, the more my views have changed. I’m doing things a lot different these days.
Life is constantly changing and we’re constantly changing as people, so my question to you is:
Did you start on one path and move onto something else. (e.g. Did you start as Wiccan and find yourself elsewhere on your journey?)
Thanks for listening, I hope to hear from some of you.
Blessings, Lisa
We were brought christian, being taught that magic existed. Mom used ‘ old wives tales’ :-). As I grew older, I had questions about threligion I was being taught and knew there was more. Bu the time I was grown I believed in the Goddess. I am more info the spiritual nature of things. Except for candles and wishes ( i learned a long time ago to be careful what I Wish for) I’ve only recently started studying rituals and spells. I am a solitaire and do consider myself eclectic since I learn from all paths. My journey info ritual work and spells is rather new, although Gaia has been in my heart since I was young.
Fortunately I was not brought up with any specific religion. When I was in elementary, I hated the school, asked my mom to put me in a private school. I couldn’t do the whole church thing and religion class every morning. I soon asked to be taken out, didn’t think much of it for a long time. When I was younger, I think I was more into the darker side of things. I’ve grown up and changed, for the best I hope.
I agree, be careful what you wish for! It will come back one way or the other.
At this point, I wouldn’t know how to label myself. Coming from a Greek and Indian background, (Native American) I’ve always been all over the place. Lately, I’ve been getting into Hoodoo.
Take your time with rituals and spells, especially if you’re not comfortable. Personally, I love doing them! I believe in studying and practicing everyday. Even if it’s just lighting a candle. Go at your own pace. What works for others, isn’t necessarily going to work for you.
Speaking of Gaia, Imbolc is coming up. I know most people associate this day with Brigid, but for me it’s Gaia. I say follow what feels right in your heart. :)Blessings!
